KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0554; 10:10AM; 112 W 5th St; https://bit.ly/3vtI6Mb; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: 22 minutes after receiving the alarm, the first engine company on scene ascended the stairwell to the 11th floor. They located a contents fire, held in check by fire sprinklers, and fully extinguished the fire ensuring it was contained to one unit. The hallway is clear of smoke and no evacuation is required. There is some residual water on the 10th and 11th floors and firefighters are taking equipment up to conduct a water removal operation. One patient (age/gender unknown) is being evaluated for possible smoke inhalation. Structure Fire; INC#1477; 10:45PM; 255 S Hill St; https://bit.ly/3pSepAB; Downtown; Firefighters ascended to the 8th floor of a 16 story high-rise and located a fire in one unit being held in check by the fire sprinklers (reported as a vacuum cleaner which sparked and started a fire). While a few residents self-evacuated, the rest of the building is sheltering in place. There is only light smoke in the hallway. There will be a water removal operation due to the sprinkler activation. No injuries reported.
