Crews ascended ladders to the roof of the vacant house to provide vertical ventilation, as crews developed interior fire attack hose lines to knock back the flames inside. It took 55 firefighters 36 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. As crews made access to the vacant structure, the intensity of the smoke grew, becoming dark and pressurized. Firefighters created holes in the building to let the smoke escape, and deployed hose lines inside to oppose the flames. It took 42 firefighters 18 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Firefighters on the roof created ventilation holes for the smoke and heat, while teams below located and attacked the fire inside the 1,872-square-foot structure. Full extinguishment was accomplished by 83 firefighters in 25 minutes, with no extension or injuries reported.
