No wind reported and fire companies are reporting the bulk of the fire has been knocked down. Structure defense fire companies are reporting 100 feet to 200 feet of defensible space. is requesting CHP and LAPD. Forward progress is unknown at this time. Fire engines are positioned for structure defense and Glendale Fire is also sending a response to assist LAFD. [KNOCKDOWN] Structure Fire; INC#1398; 04:09PM; 490 W Venice Bl; https://bit.ly/4callBQ; Downtown; VENICE IC declared a knockdown at 1627 hours. 78 Firefighters extinguished the fire within 18 minutes of the 911 call. No injuries reported and no patients were found after primary and secondary searches of the structure. Cause of the fire is undetermined. [KNOCKDOWN] Structure Fire; INC#1222; 05:04PM; 900 S Santa Fe Av; https://bit.ly/4rqyueI; Downtown; Violet IC declared a knockdown at 1745 hours. Approximately 95 firefighters extinguished the fire within 41 minutes of the 911 call. Primary and secondary search complete. Department of Building and Safety, Department of Transportation notified and an arson unit was requested by Violet IC. Two firefighters injured and transported to a local hospital. No exposures and the cause is undetermined at this time. The coordinated efforts of LAFD Air Operations and ground based firefighters contained the fire to 3/4 acre. Companies on scene are currently in the mop-up phase. No injuries are reported.
