River x Colorado Bl; internal:/; Atwater Village; An LAFD air rescue helicopter has safely hoisted one 50 year-old male, who was clinging to a tree (unk time factor) mid-channel, with water speed about 15 mph (unk depth) approximately one-quarter (0.25) mile south of the Colorado Blvd overpass; The (homeless?) man, whose reason for being in or near the river was not determined by the LAFD, is conscious and alert but suffering from hypothermia; He was taken directly by helicopter to an area hospital in fair condition; LAFD ground and air crews are searching the area to confirm no other persons or animals are in peril; MEDIA: LAFD PIO Capt Erik Scott will be available at the Command Post: L.A.
