Update #ColoradoIC Brush Fire; INC#0971; 06:28PM; 2900 W Colorado Bl; http://bit.ly/2NwLEYv; Eagle Rock; The City of Glendale has now issued mandatory evacuation orders for "Mount Carmel & Bywood - Both sides of Glenoaks Canyon and all arterial streets pictured in map" Their map is available at this link in Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B1m8ZXQhrvI/?igshid=izmttzzy35ql. The fire is at *approximately* 20-25 acres. Over 215 LAFD firefighters are assigned to this incident with additional resources from Glendale Fire and LA County Fire. LAFD has 3 helicopters plus the Air-Crane and LACounty has an additional 2 on scene, conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters continue to make progress on the fire with no structures damaged and no injuries reported. MEDIA STAGING is at Mount Carmel and Glenoaks with LAFD Captain Silverman. Update Brush Fire; INC#0971; 05:03PM; 2900 W Colorado Bl; http://bit.ly/2NwLEYv; Eagle Rock; The fire spotted across to the north of the 134 Freeway and is slowly backing up hill. Three LAFD helicopters are conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters are making good progress against the left flank of the fire with additional resources committing to the right flank. There are not currently any evacuations in place nor a defined number of homes threatened. Glendale and LA County Fire both have resources on scene while LAFD remains Incident Command. The 134 Freeway is closed WB at Figueroa and EB at Glendale. The 2 Freeway is closed SB at Mountain. Please follow CHP for all updates on road closures. LAFD PIO Captain Silverman responding for media availability on the ground. Media staging location will be updated once available. Over 143 LAFD firefighters on scene in addition to Glendale and LA County resources. Additional resources requested for potential need for structural defense operations. Glendale Fire is also on scene with LAFD remaining in command of the incident. The contracted Erickson Air-Crane is now attached to the incident to assist with water drops. No injuries reported.
