Vehicle Assist 01/29/2021 INC#1247

Vehicle Assist; INC#1247; 05:01PM; Near 2667 N Paradise Dr; https://bit.ly/3aew3GA; Lincoln Heights; One of several LAFD Fire Engines responding to a reported structure fire became mired in the mud of a soft-shouldered narrow road while attempting to strategically access what proved to be only a small non-injury rubbish fire that was completely extinguished prior to LAFD arrival. This Engine becoming stranded did not affect a timely response to, or the outcome of that emergency. The nearly 40,000 lb. (when fully laden and staffed) Engine, now with 500 gallons of water (4,170 lbs) emptied from its firefighting tank at the scene (now at approximately 32,000 lb.) is not visibly damaged, remains upright and is being stabilized. We are not aware of any imminent danger to nearby structures. The Engine will be carefully winched and pulled from its quandary by LAFD tractors assisted by the LAFD Heavy Rescue Unit and as necessary, LAFD Urban Search and Rescue personnel. LAFD Public Information Officer Firefighter David Ortiz is at the scene.; FS 47; Batt 2; Central Bureau; Council District 14; BC1 BC2 E16 E202 E203 E220 E3 E44 HE1 HR3 RA3 RA803 T2 T20 T3 UR3; CH7; 13; Brian Humphrey
