Firefighters forced entry to the garage level and into the unit above for access. They found the flames had extended up into the commercial occupancy and quickly extinguished the fire that spread vertically from the auto fire below. No reported injuries. It took 20 LAFD firefighters just 13 minutes to eliminate the fire hazard inside the residence. Two patients (53-year-old female and 95-year-old male) had evacuated the burning structure prior to fire department arrival. Both had medical complaints, were evaluated by firefighter-paramedics on scene and transported to an area hospital in fair condition.
