Update Forward Progress Stopped Brush Fire; INC#1406; 05:44PM; Sb 110 Fy; https://bit.ly/49jn7Pp; Elysian Park; Forward progress of the fire has been stopped by the combined efforts of ground crews and air operations extinguishment strategies. In total, one to two acres were burned with no structural involvement. Fire companies are now in the "mop up" phase and will remain on scene to cool all hotspots and establish a full perimeter of bare earth around the burned area. No injuries have been reported. LAPD and LAFD Arson are on-scene investigating. Units on scene report a 50' x 50' patch of light fuels being wind driven. It is unknown if this fire is related to the rubbish/grass fire units are working on south of this location. CHP will be closing the transition between the two freeways in order for firefighters to safely work on the fire. Initial reports state fireworks may have been the ignition source of this blaze. [UPDATE] Jumper; INC#1368; 09:33PM; 333 N Los Angeles St; https://bit.ly/3Pavki6; Downtown; Person threatening to jump off of an overpass to the 101 freeway below has been taken into custody and is being currently medically evaluated by LAFD paramedics and will be transported to a local area hospital.. LAFD, LAPD, LAPD SWAT and CHP on scene. LAFD deployed rescue air cushions to both sides of the over pass and CHP closed all lanes of the 101 freeway in both directions during the duration of the incident. Unknown medical condition of the patient. Patient is a male, approximately 30 years of age.
