Crews coordinated interior and roof operations, attacking the fire while preserving as much property as possible. Knockdown confirmed at 6:13PM. All occupants out of fire unit; no extension of fire to other apartment units. Rubbish Fire - Now Out; INC#1373; 05:06PM; 403 E 5th St; https://bit.ly/3JA4flo; Downtown; Outside fire which extended to the plywood boarding and rolling-steel door on a one-story 50' x 100' commercial building. The commercial building on fire in turn exposed a three-story, mixed residential/commercial building (also boarded up). Firefighters quickly extinguished the outside fire and ensured there was no further extension of fire to the two buildings. No injuries or occupants reported. One patient (52F, fair condition) who was on the bus is being transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Firefighters have mitigated a gas leak, identified as secondary to the incident -- the scene is currently stable, with no escalation of risk. DOT has blocked off traffic in the immediate vicinity, and the gas company is en route. Though an electric scooter was located on scene, it has *not* been identified as the cause of the blaze.
