While there were some (number unknown) windows which were damaged on the exposed apartment building, the fire was stopped from extending into the structure. Firefighters will remain on scene for an unknown duration to conduct extensive overhaul operations to ensure no pockets of fire remain. LA Building and Safety are responding. Fire fully consumed the attic, with partial involvement of the second (top) floor, where firefighters prevented it from burning down into any first floor units. It took 74 firefighters 45 minutes to extinguish the flames. Approximately 27 people will be displaced. No reported injuries.
