Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0297; 04:33AM; 16208 S Vermont Av; https://bit.ly/3HjRrPq; Harbor Gateway; KNOCKDOWN at the "Major Emergency" fire known as Vermont IC. It took the combined effort of 144 firefighters 5 hours (300 minutes) in defensive mode to contain the complex fire and mitigate various safety considerations. Multiple LAFD units, including Hazmat, will remain on scene to monitor and control any fire or life safety hazards due to the large amount of lead-acid batteries burning at this commercial occupancy. The fire is under active investigation.
