KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1307; 05:02PM; 15639 W La Mesa St; #Sylmar; Firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home with fire in a front room of the house. Firefighters concurrently (1) deployed hose lines to engage in an interior fire attack, and (2) ascended ladders to the roof to provide the structure with ventilation (allowing the heat and smoke a place to escape). Ultimately, it took 36 firefighters 16 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
