KNOCKDOWN - FATALITY Structure Fire - FATALITY; INC#0938; 02:10PM; 2353 S Portland St; https://bit.ly/4h8PNh2; University Park; KNOCKDOWN: 47 firefighters quickly located and extinguished fire in one unit on the 2nd floor of a (mixed) three-story apartment building (updated from two-story). While conducting a primary search during their fire attack, firefighters located a victim in the involved unit. Unfortunately, the individual was beyond medical help and determined dead on scene. LAFD Arson is responding for the cause investigation per protocol for a fatality fire. Victim identification and cause of death will be determined by the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
