This is a STATIC situation with an accidental small spill of chemical (identified as betamercaptoethanal). The seven story structure was evacuated only as a precaution due to the slight odor noticeable in the building. Three people present at the spill were evaluated and had no medical complaint and declined transport. The spill has been cleaned and there are no current hazards. The incident will remain active as LAFD Hazmat squad responds to confirm all safety hazards are mitigated. No additional resources are being requested.
