No injury. Flames were prevented from damaging a detached two-car garage or nearby homes. No injury. Upon extinguishment of the flames, they discovered the remains of one person (undetermined age / gender / site affiliation / circumstances) within the trailer. No other injuries reported. That person's cause of death, as well as the cause and origin of the fire remain the focus of an active investigation. Firefighters will remain on scene for an extended period of time to manage hot spots and establish a full bare-soil perimeter around the burned area. Cooling apparatus have been requested for firefighter rehabilitation. Traffic will be impacted, and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. UPDATE Grass Fire; INC#0931; 12:48PM; 15700 W Burbank Bl; https://bit.ly/3JKSVTp; #SepulvedaBasin; Park rangers, LAFD air resources, and one Cal OES Type 3 strike team (part of LAFD's pre-deployment plan for the heat increase this week) have been requested at this incident. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0762; 11:26AM; 8355 N Willis Av; https://bit.ly/4lAmh4b; #PanoramaCity; Two-story apartment building with smoke initially showing from one unit on the first floor and reports of a possible victim trapped on the second floor. First-arriving companies quickly attacked the fire and rescued the victim. Paramedics assessed the patient (27F), who has refused hospital transport. Knockdown officially declared in 25 minutes from the time of the initial 911 call with 37 firefighters on scene. LADWP, gas company, and LADBS requested for utility management and structural safety assessment.
