Knockdown - Brush Fire; INC#0552; 11:08AM; 5600 N Woodley Av; https://bit.ly/3RG8PQg; #SepulvedaBasin; Despite 90°F+ ambient temperature and quick moving flames in volatile grass fanned by shifting 10 mph winds, a well-coordinated effort by LAFD ground and air units has held the fire to seven (7) acres of vegetation north of Burbank Boulevard in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. No injury. No structures. No evacuation. Firefighters will remain at scene into this afternoon, mopping up hotspots and completing a damp bare soil perimeter surrounding the burned area. COMPLETE - Rescue; INC#1521; 08:00PM; 208 N Park Av; https://maps.app.goo.gl/XYJau447SWCgizW57; City of San Fernando; Via skillful use of a rope system, LAFD responders have safely extracted the approximately 30-year-old female civilian from an (undetermined size or style) chimney/exhaust flue atop a small municipal outbuilding at the City of San Fernando Recreation Center, with no structural damage. She was not affiliated with the location or involved in official business. She has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in fair condition. Conscious and alert, she has been physically stabilized as LAFD Firefighters specially trained, equipped and certified in urban search and rescue have arrived at the scene to complete the rescue. The woman's site affiliation and circumstances of her entrapment are not yet known. Media Inquiries: San Fernando Police Department.
