Firefighters have transitioned to a defensive firefighting mode due to conditions changing. The outside fire has extended into the attic. A small explosion occurred and now is showing roof compromise. Rubbish Fire - NOW OUT; INC#1744; 10:07PM; 5600 N Reseda Bl; https://bit.ly/4mflmaK; #Tarzana; 33 Firefighters in 43 minutes were able to fully extinguish a rubbish fire in a pre-existing basement having a tunnel passage. Specialized companies Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) unit along with Hazardous Materials unit were used in determining how to access, confine and extinguish smoldering rubbish fire due to tunnel passage. Specialty trained USAR firefighters were utilized in a possible confined space area. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 08/10/2025 INC#0164

Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0164; 02:21AM; 1169 W 16th St; https://bit.ly/41wN5et; #San Pedro; 35 Firefighters in 21 minutes were able to fully extinguish a detached garage fully involved with fire and exposures. LAFD firefighters used a well-coordinated fire attack operation and vertical ventilation techniques on the roof to prevent extension keeping the the detached garage the only structure damaged by smoke and fire. Units will remain on scene for unknown period of time performing overhaul procedures to ensure no chance of rekindle. 1 civilian patient treated and released on scene. no firefighter injuries reported.
