With winds at 25mph north to south, helicopters are arriving on scene to conduct water drops to extinguish the embers and ensure no hazard remains. Update Brush Fire #GettyFire; INC#0074; 07:00PM; 1800 N Sepulveda Blvd; internal:/www.lafd.org/news/getty-fire; Los Angeles; As of 7PM, the size of the fire remains at 745 acres with 52% containment. The damage inspection report has been completed with new numbers as follows;10 residences destroyed, 15 residences damaged. Firefighters worked throughout the day patrolling the fire perimeter and cooling any remaining hot spots. Current objectives for crews this evening will be to further build upon containment lines. Weather is proving to be more favorable over the next couple of days with weak offshore winds of 10-15 mph expected. A low relative humidity trend will continue through much of the next week across Southern California. Conditions remain favorable for dangerous fire growth and behavior. There is no change to the Mandatory Evacuation zone (www.lafd.org/news/getty-fire for the details). Update Brush Fire #GettyFire; INC#0074; 07:00AM; 1800 N Sepulveda Blvd; https://www.lafd.org/news/getty-fire; Los Angeles; As of 7:00AM on October 31, 2019: The fire remains at 745 acres with 39% containment. 12 residences destroyed and 5 damaged. No civilian injuries or fatalities, 2 minor Firefighter injuries. Firefighters worked overnight to cool any hot spots and contain any flare ups within the current fire perimeter. Adverse weather conditions will continue to be the greatest challenge for firefighters. An Extreme Red Flag Warning remains in effect through 6:00PM. Strong Santa Ana winds with peak wind gusts of 30-50 mpw will continue to impact wind prone areas of Los Angeles. Widespread single digit relative humidity's are forecasted. This all adds up to an extreme fire weather threat, meaning that conditions are as dangerous for fire growth and behavior as we have seen in recent years. A large portion of the area was repopulated last night with the following area currently still under a mandatory evacuation - he West border is Kenter Avenue. The South border is Sunset Boulevard. The North border is the area just south of Mountaingate Avenue. The East border is the area adjacent to the 405 Freeway and Sepulveda Boulevard. NOTE: 405 Freeway is open in both directions. Sepulveda Boulevard northbound is open to all traffic. Sepulveda Boulevard southbound is open to all except from Skirball Center Drive to Sunset Boulevard, which is restricted to residents with I.D. only.
