Preliminary reports from LAPD states they were first to arrive and immediately transported two (possibly three) patients (one minor child and one adult) in potentially grave condition (these reports are per LAPD with LAFD not having had contact with these patients). There were five dogs inside the structure. One is deceased and one is being transported by the owner to the vet for evaluation for smoke inhalation. Firefighters prevented the fire from extending to the 2nd floor. Two domestic pets (type unknown at this time) located in the structure, sadly one is deceased. A small fire in the hallway was kept in check by a fire sprinkler. The fire did not spread to any residential units. LAFD will ventilate the building and conduct a water sweep operation to help prevent further water damage from the sprinkler activation. Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire and found a fire out in an apartment with a patient outside. The patient (age/gender unknown) was transported in critical condition. Crews faced a stubborn attic fire in addition to execessive storage conditions inside. Firefighters made their way through to reach the interior fire while the roof ventilation group and additional outside hand lines hit the attic fire. Resources will remain on scene to continue hitting any hot spots and conducting overhaul operations. No injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD.
