Update Knockdown Structure Fire; INC#0823; 02:42PM; 11679 W Sheldon St; https://bit.ly/2DMLKJ4; Shadow Hills; Despite downed high voltage power lines and near triple-digit heat, 87 LAFD firefighters fully extinguished the greater alarm #SheldonFire in just 62 minutes, confining flames to the 50' x 200' 1-story metal-clad building containing upholstered furnishings. The fire was skillfully prevented from damaging adjacent structures. There were no injuries. Monetary loss to the yet identified business is still being tabulated. Three patients sustained non-life threatening injuries: 34 yo Female, 10 yo Female and 11 mo Female. Four patients were transported in critical condition: 27 yo Female, 6 yo Female, 3 yo Female, 8 mo Female. Two additional patients were evaluated on scene and declined hospital transport. Update Initial alert was incorrect Brush Fire, Outside City; INC#0915; 06:00PM; Lake Hughes Road ; https://bit.ly/2A0XxAC; Van Nuys; LAFD is fulling a request for two strike teams (total of 10 engines and two battalion chiefs) and a 3rd strike team comprising Culver City FD, Beverly Hills FD and Santa Monica FD to assist at the Lake Hughes brush fire. The fire is currently reported to be 7,000 acres with evacuation orders in place. It is a LACoFD and Angeles National Forest incident.
