Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0245; 06:26AM; 2633 N Commonwealth Av; https://bit.ly/3ie9S61; Los Feliz; A total of 42 LAFD firefighters took 33 minutes with a defensive approach to extinguish flames in a pool house/guest house that was completely destroyed by fire. Firefighters made a quick stop on the fire that spread to the vegetation behind the house, before it got out of hand. There were no reported injuries. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1279; 06:51PM; 10344 W Olympic Bl; https://bit.ly/35kkjRV; Century City; 32 firefighters responded to a one-story commercial building (dry cleaning occupancy). Firefighters located the fire inside of a 10' x 10' shed attached to the structure, with no fire extension into the building. It took 15 minutes to find and extinguish the flames (7:06 PM). Firefighters coordinated vertical ventilation with interior fire attack to extinguish the flames in 32 minutes. No reported injuries. Update CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#0823; 04:15PM; 15350 W Burbank Bl; https://bit.ly/2DzGaW3; Sherman Oaks; Over 100 firefighters battled through intensely hot weather to extinguish the fire that ultimately consumed 20 acres in the Sepulveda Basin. With the help of LA County hand crews, LAFD CERT volunteers, and a sky crane, firefighters declared 100% containment after 3 hours 17 minutes, protecting the Japanese gardens and water reclamation plant. Two firefighters and one civilian sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the fire. No structures were damaged.
