Structure Fire - Now Out 12/10/2020 INC#0145

Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0145; 03:34AM; 1951 S McGarry St; https://bit.ly/3oDikyx; Central-Alameda; A rubbish fire extended into a 100' x 150' one-story commercial building. Fire was held in check by a pair of fire sprinklers, which allowed time for forcible entry and a quick interior offense by 47 LAFD responders to fully extinguish flames within and outside the structurer in just 22 minutes (3:56 AM). LAFD crews continue to perform overhaul and salvage of textiles at the (yet) unidentified business. A 39 year-old civilian sustained 1st degree burns from the rubbish fire, and has been taken by LAFD Paramedics to an area hospital in fair condition. No other injuries reported. It took 134 LAFD personnel using a well-coordinated combination of offensive and defensive tactics, just 66 minutes to fully extinguish what was initially estimated as a 200' x 100' one-story unoccupied commercial building, housing filming or training props. Confirmed address, building info and business name pending. No injury. No evacuation. No other structures damaged. LAFD PIO Firefighter David Ortiz is at scene to assist the media. The fire's cause is under active investigation. The initially estimated 200' x 100' one-story vacant commercial building, appears to have only been housing filming or training props, and is believed to have been unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injury among the 134 LAFD personnel assigned, who continue to operate in a defensive mode at what is now considered a Major Emergency fire known as the "San Pedro Fire". Knockdown Brush Fire; INC#0408; 09:45AM; 1100 W Upland Av; https://bit.ly/2K82Sfa; San Pedro; 60 LAFD personnel responded by ground and air - the latter providing critical water drops - taking less than 45 minutes to fully contain and extinguish flames that consumed one-quarter (0.25) acre of brush and grass in a difficult to access canyon near Peck Park. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Ground-based LAFD crews will remain for ~ 2 hours to handle mop-up of hot spots and smoldering debris.
