Hazardous Materials Investigation; INC#0385; 10:00AM; 13450 W Osborne St; https://bit.ly/3nb45zR; Arleta; A collision between a passenger vehicle and pick-up truck belonging a pest control firm, led to the ejection and spill of insecticide cargo (5 lbs. Boric Acid powder & 1 gallon Bifen liquid) from the truck into the parking lot and gutter near a convenience store. LAFD HazMat experts have deemed the situation static, with no on-site escalation or specific off-site hazard identified. There are presently no injuries or illness specific to the now isolated spill. One person (undetermined age / gender / condition / affiliation / circumstances) who as involved in the collision was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injury solely related to the collision. Though there was no need for formal evacuation, LAFD has cordoned off and removed occupants from the convenience store and parking lot, until the store (which serves food) and vicinity can be confirmed free of contamination by health officials. Until the products are cleaned up by a private firm (dispatched by the pest control company, no ETA) the entire intersection of Osborne Street and Aleta Avenue will remain closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
