Update Structure Fire; INC#0707; 02:00PM; 18227 W Elkwood St; https://bit.ly/2LuHJgf; Reseda; The fire appeared to have started in ornamental vegetation near Strathern St, then was fueled by wind several blocks to the south across Blythe, Arminta, Elkwood and Ingomar. A post-fire survey has revealed that two homes sustained minor fire damage, and four out buildings were damaged or destroyed. LAFD Firefighters were on scene just three minutes after being dispatched and acted quickly to prevent this situation from becoming much worse in the warm/windy conditions. Surface fire (roofing) has been extinguished on one single-family home. Two out buildings have been extinguished. Firefighters are still battling remaining burning vegetation by ground and by air. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1012; 02:55PM; 1239 S Normandie Av; https://bit.ly/3oP27XI; Harvard Heights; After being elevated to a greater alarm structure fire, 53 firefighters extinguished the flames in 31 minutes, inside of a two-story boarded-up house. The stubborn fire appeared to have started on the first floor and spread to the second floor and attic, where firefighters encountered some challenges accessing the fire. Ultimately, the flames were extinguished, with no resulting injuries.
