Firefighters systematically checked each elevator throughout the building and rescued at least 6 people trapped by the power outage. Two patients (adult males) were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening medical complaints. Thankfully the power has been restored and there is no additional hazard. One patient was transported to a local hospital (63-year-old female with minor injuries) and one patient was evaluated and released on scene (33-year-old male). No firefighter injuries. Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0848; 01:16PM; 6801 W Hollywood Bl; https://bit.ly/2Sxiwoq; #Hollywood; LAFD Firefighters quickly handled a small fire in the wall of a first floor shoe store at the four story Ovation Hollywood shopping center (northwest corner of Hollywood Blvd/Highland Ave) with evidence of minimal heat, smoke or fire extending in a void space as high as the fourth floor. No injury. No evacuation. All businesses have resumed normal operations. Vegetation Fire; INC#0683; 10:48AM; 403 W Av 33; https://bit.ly/3MLNpPj; #LincolnHeights; PRELIM: LAFD ground crews are actively managing a series of small and slow-burning vegetation fires east of the Golden State Freeway / Arroyo Seco Parkway interchange, adjacent to the Arroyo Seco (Flood Control Channel) / Los Angeles River confluence. #LATraffic: In an effort to most quickly contain and extinguish the fires before they can cause infra/structure damage, the LAFD has asked the CHP to close multiple lanes on the north and southbound Golden State (I-5) Freeway and the the Arroyo Seco Parkway (SR110) near the I-5/SR110 Freeway interchange for an unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Monitor traffic reports on news radio. This series of fires is considered suspicious and under active LAFD investigation as a possible criminal act. ARSON SUSPECT ARRESTED - MEDIA ADVISORY 11/15/2023

ARSON SUSPECT ARRESTED - MEDIA ADVISORY; 10:30AM; #BoyleHeights / #Chinatown; Between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM this morning (Wednesday, November 15, 2023), the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to and quickly extinguished approximately 12 intentionally set vegetation and debris fires in the Boyle Heights and Chinatown area. The fires thankfully caused no injury or structural damage. Thanks to a detailed suspect description provided to LAFD responders, teams of Investigators from the LAFD Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section, working closely with the Los Angeles Police Department's Major Crimes Division, were immediately deployed to the area. Shortly after 8:00 AM, the adult male suspect was detained and subsequently arrested for the felony crime of Arson (451(d) P.C. - Arson of Property). At this time, there is no known connection between this suspect and other fires. The Los Angeles City Fire Department appreciates members of the community who stepped forward to help identify this suspect. Anyone who witnesses active fire setting should call 9-1-1 immediately. Those who have information regarding previous arson fires or an arson suspect in the City of Los Angeles, are encouraged to use the LAPD's 24 hour anonymous tip line at 1-877-LAPD 24-7 (1-877-527-3247).
