Firefighters prevented the fire from extending into the main residence and the attic. One male (age unknown) patient was evaluated for unknown medical complaint and declined LAFD transport. Update Structure Fire; INC#0344; 08:53AM; 100 E Washington Bl; https://bit.ly/3yWzNIL; Historic South-Central; The condition of the building created significant safety hazards, therefore it is requiring a longer time to ensure all personnel remain safe while reaching the remaining pockets of fire. An official 'knockdown' has not been declared but the incident clock is turned off and the work will continue until all fire is extinguished. While the large smoke plume could be seen across Los Angeles, crews have prevented extension to the surrounding structures. Firefighters will remain on scene for approximately two hours conducting overhaul operations. The Northbound Blueline track will likely remain closed for another hour (estimated). The traffic is currently grid-locked and CHP is working to shut the freeway and clear traffic to allow LAFD apparatus to spot and deploy the air cushion. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1553; 08:33PM; 1281 W Exposition Bl; https://bit.ly/3w9a6oj; #ExpositionPark; It took 40 firefighters 40 minutes to extinguish a blaze at a former (now vacant) laundromat. Firefighters positioned themselves around the exterior of the structure with hose lines to douse the flames, including positions on the roofs of two residential structures for protection. Firefighters contained the flames to the building of origin (and some ornamental vegetation immediately outside). No reported injuries. Update Death Investigation Brush Fire; INC#0891; 07:00PM; 11160 N De Soto Av; https://bit.ly/3JXVr4O; #Chatsworth; A more accurate analysis of the burn footprint revealed that held the fire to just under two acres in total (less than initial estimates). While operating in the area during the brush fire incident, crews located some bones that appear to be human remains (unrelated to the fire).
