Update Hiker Rescue; INC#1560; 08:15PM; Bronson Canyon; https://bit.ly/458yNRe; #GriffithPark; The two stranded hikers ( unknown age / gender / affiliation ) and their small pet dog have been safely hoisted aboard the hovering LAFD helicopter from very steep terrain near the Bronson Caves. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0859; 01:38PM; 138 E Sycamore Park Dr; https://bit.ly/455T7m1; Highland Park; KNOCKDOWN: 28 firefighters extinguished the fire in 27 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire extended into an exposed wall of the attached one exposed building but was prevented from extending to the 2nd. Firefighters continue to dig out any remaining hot spots in the wall and clear the attic while additional crews clean up some small spots of fire in the adjacent vegetation. Firefighters are doing salvage work while opening the wall to chase down the fire. The two story exposure is being defended from any fire extension. Firefighters defended the exposed home (Delta -north- side) from the fire and prevented it from extending into the structure. The fire did extend to some vegetation and trees behind the row of trees but was quickly stopped from spreading into the canyon below. Cause and $ loss TBD. The adult male hiker has not be in contact with his family and this incident is now transitioning to a 'missing person' with LAPD in command (anticipating LA Co Sheriff Dept providing ground search personnel). Any questions regarding the ongoing search are referred to LAPD Inc# 4014.
