Structure Fire; INC#0705; 02:04PM; 8786 W Wyngate St; https://bit.ly/3cdIr93; Sunland; Fatality: An adult male was determined dead on scene after the extinguishment of a fire in a detached garage. While not yet confirmed, initial reports indicate the fire may have arisen from an electrocution to the patient. Firefighters knocked down the fire and then located the deceased patient inside the structure. All questions regarding cause of death will be handled by LA County Corner. LAFD Arson Section is responding for the investigation due to a fatality. Trapped Vehicle 04/13/2020 INC#0248

Trapped Vehicle; INC#0248; 07:20AM; 6940 W Oporto Dr; https://bit.ly/3a5VrMs; Hollywood Hills; An approximately 30yo male fell 30-40 ft down a hillside (with approximately slope of 45 degrees) of a private home while engaged in construction operations. Firefighters used a two line rope system to safely reach the patient, packaged him into a litter basket and then walked the litter basket back up the hillside. The patient suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Cal-OSHA notified as per protocol for workplace injury. Following their aggressive initial attack on the flames, heavy fire and deteriorating structural conditions within the vacant 70' x 40' one-story building, forced a well-coordinated transition to defensive operations, which continued outside the structure for nearly one-half hour, before an 8 minute interior fire attack ensued. The successful effort prevented injury and precluded flames from extending to any other structure. Firefighters will remain at the scene for several hours to comb through debris and assist the active investigation into the cause of the greater alarm fire.
