Update Brush Fire; INC#1189; 05:36PM; 238 S Av 64; https://bit.ly/3pvdDJO; Highland Park; Firefighters are facing extremely steep, difficult terrain as they conduct a ground based fire attack. Their determined efforts combined with strategic water drops by LAFD Air Ops have continued to hold the fire to less than 2.5 acres and defended all structures from any damage. There is not yet an official 'knockdown' declared but crews have made strong progress and no additional resources are anticipated to be needed. South Pasadena Fire and one engine on scene and LA County Fire is sending (2?) camp crews. Update Brush Fire; INC#1189; 04:54PM; 238 S Av 64; https://bit.ly/3pvdDJO; Highland Park; Fire estimated at two acres and is topography driven (no wind). LAFD Air Ops put in several water drops which slowed the forward progress of the hot flank (Hardison Way side). The terrain on the hot flank steep with heavy brush and firefighters are making their way up, getting handlines in place. South Pasadena Fire also has an engine on scene assisting. Electrocution 08/18/2022 INC#0950

Electrocution; INC#0950; 03:33PM; 3744 N Barham Bl; https://bit.ly/3AvLXL2; Hollywood Hills; LAFD responded to a reported "power off explosion" in a DWP underground vault. Upon arrival, there was no active fire hazard and the power was confirmed off. Five male patients were transported with a mixture of burn and smoke inhalation injuries. All patients were alert, conscious, talking and were in fair condition. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. DWP confirms there will be an outage in the area as repairs are underway. All further media questions / outage questions are referred to @LADWP The 9-1-1 call was received at 1:55PM. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire (Grass); INC#1043; 02:38PM; 12970 W Branford St; https://bit.ly/3dE6qo4; Pacoima; KNOCKDOWN: 78 firefighters extinguished the fire in 47 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters prevented the vegetation fire from extending to the exposed residences. There is some reported damage (extent unknown at this time) to fencing / patio furniture. Branford St is closed at the 5 Freeway to Laurel Canyon Blvd due to large diameter supply lines on the street and commuters are advised to seek alternate routes (duration unknown at this time). Crews continue to mop up the vegetation fire hot spots. Update Structure Fire; INC#0344; 08:53AM; 100 E Washington Bl; https://bit.ly/3yWzNIL; Historic South-Central; The condition of the building created significant safety hazards, therefore it is requiring a longer time to ensure all personnel remain safe while reaching the remaining pockets of fire. An official 'knockdown' has not been declared but the incident clock is turned off and the work will continue until all fire is extinguished. While the large smoke plume could be seen across Los Angeles, crews have prevented extension to the surrounding structures. Firefighters will remain on scene for approximately two hours conducting overhaul operations. The Northbound Blueline track will likely remain closed for another hour (estimated).
