The bulk of the fire was located in the attic, running the walls which had to be opened up to chase down all remaining fire and smoldering spots. The incident commander requested LAFD Arson and LAPD respond for a potential suspect. While a knockdown was called, firefighters will continue working an area around the chimney (which had heavy fire) to ensure no hot spots remain. Crews will remain on scene and continue to flow water, ensuring hot spots and smoldering debris within the collapsed building are eliminated. LAFD Heavy Equipment will be assisting with the overhaul. A total of two firefighters were injured. One in moderate condition was transported to the hospital, and the other in fair condition will seek follow-up care after the incident concludes.
