Update Fatal Traffic Collision; INC#0058; 01:45AM; 7600 N Topanga Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/48JQeJ7; #CanogaPark; *CORRECTIONS* - Three vehicle collision with *SIX* Adult Patients Total: Including TWO (a man and a woman, unknown ages or affiliation) deceased at scene and still trapped in the wreckage - LAFD will return to assist the Medical Examiner later this morning. *TWO* critical patients have been transported by LAFD Paramedics to a regional Trauma Center, and TWO additional patients with relatively minor injuries have declined offered ambulance transportation. #LATraffic: Closure of one or more lanes at or near the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street will continue until LAPD and Medical Examiner operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0252; 05:35AM; 501 E 7th St; https://bit.ly/48IdDuA; #Downtown; Thanks to prompt LAFD notification by the building's fire alarm monitoring service, Los Angeles Firefighters arrived quickly at a 6 story center-hallway style apartment building to find fire within one third floor unit. The first arriving 30 LAFD personnel took just 17 minutes (5:52 AM) to access, confine and fully extinguish the flames, holding the blaze within the apartment of origin. The 69 year-old male resident of the involved unit sustained severe (second-degree) burn injury to 30% of his body, and has been taken by LAFD Paramedics to a regional burn care facility in critical condition. No other injuries have been reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department reminds local residents that not all building fire alarm systems are monitored. Anyone who witnesses evidence of fire, or a ringing fire alarm, should act promptly to escape harm, and never hesitate to call 9-1-1 immediately to assure the fire department is aware and responding. Though the three residents (two adults, 1 child) escaped unharmed, two pet dogs sadly perished in the flames. No other injuries reported. The American Red Cross is helping the family with immediate needs.
