Update Trench Rescue Complete - 02/05/2022 INC#0575

Update Complete - Trench Rescue; INC#0575; 11:30AM; 9031 N El Dorado Av; https://bit.ly/3GwFIGF; #SunValley; The second of two adult male construction workers involved in an unspecified purpose trenching project in the side yard of a single family home has been skillfully freed (in 77 minutes) by specially trained and equipped LAFD rescuers. He remains conscious and alert, and is receiving on-site medical treatment for leg injuries as he is being prepared for LAFD ambulance transport to a regional trauma center. His briefly trapped co-worker, who escaped the trench prior to LAFD arrival, is now at a regional trauma center being treated for non-life threatening leg injuries. A third person at the scene (unknown age / gender / affiliation / circumstances) later came forward with a complaint of back pain, and has been taken to an area hospital for clinical care. The "concrete slab" that fell with soil into the 4' deep trench with "makeshift shoring", trapping the men, was from a section of walkway on the private property. Media Inquiries: Cal-OSHA and L.A.
