The second floor was largely burnt over, with fire extending to the attic. A neighboring home to the southeast was threatened but protected. All active flames were extinguished in 32 minutes by 38 firefighters on scene, who will remain to overhaul the structure. Four patients were assessed at the scene for smoke inhalation, but were not transported to the hospital. Fire was confined to the one-story portion of the split-level building, with no extension to the two-story portion. Crews remain on scene for overhaul. Rehabilitation vehicles are arriving on the scene for firefighters, and LA Building and Safety has been requested to assess structural integrity. LAFD Heavy Equipment teams are on standby in the event demolition is requested. No civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
