KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0191; 04:40AM; 8900 S Sepulveda Westway; https://bit.ly/3I2ffVQ; Westchester; KNOCKDOWN: Over 80 firefighters battled for just over 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze in the large commercial strip mall. Partial roof collapse and division walls created challenges in reaching the different areas of the fire inaccessible from the exterior, defensive mode. Firefighters were able to work some sections in the offensive mode while other portions remained defensive. There are still some hot spots remaining which crews will continue to address well into the morning. The large number of fire apparatus will impact traffic in the area and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. No injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD. Update Structure Fire; INC#0191; 03:58AM; 8900 S Sepulveda Westway; https://bit.ly/3I2ffVQ; Westchester; The one story modern commercial building (strip mall) has division walls which render portions of the building safe to conduct an offensive operation. There is a partial roof collapse in the main fire section. Firefighters have extinguished the bulk of the fire and continue to battle against fire remaining in the rear portion (Charlie side) of the building. Structure Fire - NOW OUT; INC#1774; 11:21PM; 350 S Fuller Av; https://bit.ly/3vg7NyO; Mid-Wilshire; 13 story residential high rise building with nothing showing upon arrival. Firefighters began the investigation and located smoke showing on the 7th floor. Fire attack utilized the building stand pipes for water and extinguished a ‘contents only’ fire in the kitchen of one unit. A primary search located two dogs who were safely contained in a room. There were no other occupants. There was no evacuation required - all other residents sheltered in place in their units. Possible Drowning; INC#1168; 04:35PM; 2032 W Wilshire Bl; https://bit.ly/3Gz4HKm; Westlake; LAFD ambulance was in the area of MacArthur Park and received reports from bystander stating they saw someone enter the lake and not come out. Based on the report, LAFD dispatched a *Drowning* response at 3:51PM and is initiating a search operation. LAPD Divers were requested. This will likely be an extended duration operation.
