No injury. Hiker Rescue; INC#0967; 01:39PM; Elsmere Motorway; https://bit.ly/3BFGMuU; County of #LosAngeles; PRELIM: LAFD ground and air response alongside the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority to a 26-year-old male hiker suffering heat illness on a remote section of the Elsmere Motorway in the western San Gabriel Mountain foothills near the LAFD/LACoFD common border, just west of the Angeles National Forest. An LAFD Rescue Helicopter has lowered a Flight Paramedic to medically assess the hiker, who will soon be hoisted along with the Flight Paramedic into the hovering LAFD helicopter for direct air transport to an area hospital. Update Structure Fire; INC#1559; 09:30PM; 12122 W Oxnard St; https://bit.ly/3BmDXyQ; Valley Glen; After a complete assessment of the exposed apartment building, two units sustained enough fire damage to require the displacement of occupants, nine in total. There are no reported injuries. The Red Cross is providing assistance for their immediate needs. The cause of the fire to the detached garage is believed to be suspicious and LAFD Arson is on scene to investigate. The garage appears to be a converted living space and is clear of any occupants. Firefighters defended the exposed apartment building which sustained limited damage (the initial assessment is of melted blinds) in one corner. Multi-Patient Traffic Collision with Entrapment; INC#0058; 12:52AM; SB 5 Fwy x WB 134 Tr; https://bit.ly/4emA6AC; #GriffithPark; A single-vehicle rollover resulted in two trapped, one ejected, and a fourth who made it out on their own. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free the two trapped patients. A total of four were evaluated. Sadly, one was deceased on scene. Three others were transported to the hospital by paramedics (one in grave condition, and two in critical condition). CHP Log #146.
