Firefighters battled fire in a one story home that was fully engulfed with flames. Their efforts were slowed by excessive storage conditions outside and inside the home. Fire was extinguished on the main floor, as well as in the attic and in the subfloor (raised foundation). The search for any occupants continues. No one has been found to be inside the home so far. No reported injuries at this time. Natural Gas Leak; INC#1305; 06:40PM; 10334 W Farmington Av; http://bit.ly/2mtPnLc; Sunland; LAFD was summoned by SoCalGas to assist with evacuating two homes due to a natural gas leak (the home nearest the leak and one more in the down wind direction). To fix the problem, the street will be closed off for an unknown duration while the pipe is being accessed (minor traffic impact, as this is blocking a cul de sac). There is no fire problem, and no need for further evacuations. No injuries have been reported and no one has been transported to the hospital. First arriving LAFD personnel discovered a rubbish fire had occurred on a 16th floor balcony of the 20 story Columbia Square Living apartrments ( https://www.columbiasquareliving.com ), and was held by fire sprinklers upon LAFD arrival, before flames could cause any collateral damage.
