Update Brush Fire; INC#0651; 01:10PM; 548 N Palisades Dr; http://bit.ly/2ncIdex; Pacific Palisades; The tenacious work of over 120 firefighters, from both air and ground have successfully stopped all forward progress of the fire. Winds are approximately 11MPH and LAFD firefighters with the assistance of LACoFD camp crews will continue to address any hot spots to ensure no spot fires. Firefighters prevented the fire from reaching the property lines of the homes at the top of the hill, ensuring no damage sustained. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Update Brush Fire; INC#0651; 12:26PM; 548 N Palisades Dr; http://bit.ly/2ncIdex; Pacific Palisades; Due to the heavy brush limiting ground access to the fire, additional resources added taking this to a Major Emergency incident status. Fire size is approximately 2 acres. The fire is burning uphill, threatening homes (number unknown) at the top of the hill. Air Ops water drops are currently focused on the homes and defending them while firefighters work to get through the brush to continue extinguishment at the head of the fire. Update Structure Fire; INC#1438; 11:45PM; 1051 W 190th St; http://bit.ly/2maxqRB; Harbor Gateway; Due to the amount of water poured into the contents on the 2nd floor and questionable structural integrity of the floor due to the weight of the packed contents, incident is moving to a defensive operation and will operate from the exterior only. Truck companies have hand lines through the roof into the building and firefighters will continue to apply water through windows and exterior access holes. The bulk of the fire is extinguished but a knockdown is not yet declared. No additional resources are anticipated to be needed and the incident command is working to release some resources. No injuries reported. This will be an extended duration operation due to the excessive storage inside the structure. The structure is completely full of storage and debris, approximately 7-8' tall on both floors. Firefighters are unable to make entry far enough into the building to extinguish the deep seated fire (appears to be a contents only fire and not in the walls of the building). Truck companies are opening up the entire roof in order to reach the contents inside with hand lines from above.
