Update Structure Fire; 10:57AM; 2250 S Cotner Av; internal:/; #Sawtelle Seat of the fire located on the 2nd floor, confined to the point of origin. Fire held in check by sprinkler system. Final Update Structure Fire 01/12/2017

Final Update Structure Fire; 11:54PM; 4918 E MENDOTA AV; internal:/; Bougainvillea vegetation was wrapped around the security bars rendering the 72 y/o man unable to open them and safely exit the burning home on his own. Update Structure Fire 01/12/2017

Update Structure Fire; 11:30PM; 4918 E MENDOTA AV; internal:/; A 72 y/o male was rescued from the 1st story of a split level home. He was found by firefighters behind a window with security bars, unable to get out (It is not immediately known as to why he was unable to get out). Firefighters quickly cut the bars and pulled him outside the burning home to safety. We are pleased to say he was transported to a local hospital in good condition. There was excessive storage inside the home and it is not immediately known if there were functional smoke alarms. Update Investigation 01/12/2017

Update Investigation; 03:22PM; LA RIVER X N LOS FELIZ BL; internal:/; A LAFD Swift Water Team boarded an inflatable boat and strategically crossed the river, located a blue sleeping bag near bamboo on an island, and confirmed no one was inside. Firefighters removed the bag to thwart any additional concerned citizens calling 911. A LAFD helicopter thoroughly flew over the area and ensured no victims were stranded on the island.
