KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#1145; 03:46PM; 3050 N Lake Hollywood Dr; https://bit.ly/3PrPpy1; #HollywoodHills; Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision, which appears to have caused the initial brush fire. Firefighters extinguished the quarter-acre fire in medium brush, before locating another spot fire (50' x 50') approximately 100 yards away from the original fire. Crews transitioned to the second burn and surrounded that one, achieving extinguishment of both in a total of 53 minutes. The flames damage a nearby shed and detached garage. Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and defended nearby homes, keeping them from being damaged. Ultimately, it took 30 firefighters 25 minutes to eliminate the flames. There were no reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0686; 11:51AM; 2311 N Daly St; https://bit.ly/44uCEXI; #LincolnHeights; *Corrected Address* Firefighters found a 100-ft x 100-ft one-story commercial building on fire. Crews made entry with hose lines, and extinguished the first-floor fire. Crews then discovered a mezzanine inside, which contained additional fire above. Ultimately, it took 88 firefighters 57 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames (additional companies have been added for workload relief during overhaul operations). We want to thank the volunteers from our LAFD CERT program who responded to assist with hydration and rehab, to support firefighters as they work during this heatwave. No reported injuries.
