Hiker Rescue; INC#1186; 05:44PM; West Mandeville Fire Rd; https://bit.ly/3PCKx7S; #Brentwood; LAFD has responded by ground and air to assist a 55 year-old male hiker who became suddenly ill on a remote section of the West Mandeville Fire Road in Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Regional Park. An LAFD rescue helicopter was first to find the seriously ill man, and lowered a Flight Paramedic to medically assess, and begin his immediate treatment. Cliff Rescue; INC#1632; 11:40PM; 3740 S Meyler St; https://bit.ly/46x8AvP; #SanPedro; LAFD divers were able to access the interior of the heavily damaged coupe wedged upside down between rocks in the high surf, to discover and extricate one lifeless adult male occupant. Beyond medical help, he was determined dead and remains secure near the wreckage pending the Medical Examiner's arrival. A thorough search within the heavily damaged vehicle, as well as a spotlight and helicopter infrared search of the shoreline yielded no other victims. LAFD crews will assist Medical Examiner's staff in the safe, discreet and dignified recovery of the decedent from the shoreline as soon as the investigation and conditions allow. Update Cliff Rescue; INC#1632; 11:05PM; 3740 S Meyler St; https://bit.ly/46x8AvP; #SanPedro; LAFD divers from the trio of assigned LAFD fireboats have found the heavily damaged vehicle upside down in the pounding surf, wedged between large rocks on the rugged shoreline at maximum tide.
