Fire; INC#0964; 02:03PM; 8940 N Reseda Bl; https://maps.app.goo.gl/r3ZuzX5XTSTjsKLL9; #Northridge; PRELIM: Scaffolding (only) toppled into power lines at four-story apartment building under construction. No injury. Though there is electrical arcing and small flames involving debris near the currently energized scaffolding, the now vacant (all workers safety self-evacuated) building is not involved with fire. LADWP en route (unknown ETA). #LATraffic: Full closure of Reseda Boulevard between Rayen Street and Nordhoff Street until LADWP crews have secured the power line, and rendered the site and vicinity safe for travel. Unknown ETO. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1767; 10:40PM; 3333 W 2nd St; #Koreatown; Firefighters responded to a very large four-story apartment complex, which had three occupied floors over a parking level. Crews simultaneously developed hose lines to a top-floor fire unit, assisted occupants evacuate, and cut holes in the roof for vertical ventilation. Seventy-two firefighters extinguished the flames in 25 minutes. One patient went to the hospital in fair condition due to smoke inhalation. Due to smoke damage, an unknown number of residents will be displace. Red Cross is responding to assist. No firefighter injuries. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1307; 05:02PM; 15639 W La Mesa St; #Sylmar; Firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home with fire in a front room of the house. Firefighters concurrently (1) deployed hose lines to engage in an interior fire attack, and (2) ascended ladders to the roof to provide the structure with ventilation (allowing the heat and smoke a place to escape). Ultimately, it took 36 firefighters 16 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
