Firefighters instructed occupants in other nearby units to shelter in place, to protect them from smoke and toxic fumes. There were no reported injuries. Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0408; 07:50AM; 404 S Figueroa St; https://bit.ly/3lk0y3o; Downtown; The fully extinguished fire appears to have been largely in or near a utility or service area (trash receptacle, ice machine, etc.) on a the 22nd floor of the 33 story Westin Bonaventure Hotel. Three adult patrons have been examined by LAFD Paramedics in the hotel lobby for minor injuries and medical concerns following the earlier evacuation, and two of them will be taken to an area hospital by LAFD ambulance. The third person declined further care. Firefighters continue to assist staff in rehousing patrons and resolving residual and lessening smoke on Floors 22-26 as well as localized water removal on Floors 21 and 22. LAFD Public Information Officer Captain Erik Scott will be on scene shortly to assist media.
