Structure Fire; INC#0214; 05:32AM; 607 N Alvarado St; https://bit.ly/2CnrFYu; Echo Park; LAFD sent 60 firefighters to the one-story metal-clad commercial building with fire in densely packed storage and (what appeared to be) hazardous materials inside. It took 28 minutes to extinguish the flames within the contents of the building, however a double roof concealed flames within the structural members, which continued to put out pressurized smoke after the contents were extinguished. Firefighters continued working to expose the void space and get water on the fire. Overall, it took firefighters 49 minutes (6:21 AM) to completely extinguish all areas of the building. No reported injuries. Firefighters skillfully defended the nearby structures, keeping the fire from spreading beyond the shed of origin. No reported injuries. Crews remain on scene to "mop up" the hot spots and improve the perimeter. No reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0958; 06:00PM; 5538 W Romaine St; https://bit.ly/2CrR43q; Hollywood; A 1,466 sq-ft one-story multi-family residence was fully-involved with fire upon LAFD arrival. It took 30 firefighters just 10 minutes to put out the fire, starting with a defensive strategy (from the exterior), and knocking back the flames enough to enter and extinguish the remainder. This was the site of a previous burn. Firefighters skillfully protected all adjacent structures. No reported injuries. Update Brush Fire CONTAINED 06/20/2020 INC#0715

Update CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#0715; 02:55PM; 9851 W Lanark St; https://bit.ly/3fHBtuP; Shadow Hills; The incident was quickly escalated to 84 firefighters responding to the brush fire. The fire burned approximately 5 - 6 acres when LAFD stopped all progress of the fire 37 minutes after the time of alarm. This fire was in the former burn footprint of the 2017 La Tuna Fire, which burned 7,194 acres. Structures are no longer threatened. Crews will remain on scene to extinguish hot spots within the burn perimeter, and to improve the line around the fire. No reported injuries. No structures damaged. The first arriving companies (35 firefighters) achieved a knockdown (13 minutes) prior to the arrival of the additionally requested resources (reflected in this alert). Firefighters contained this to a contents fire and prevented extension into the attic or the two additional exposed businesses. No injuries reported.
