Knockdown - #BronsonFire Structure Fire; INC#0421; 09:47AM; 1245 N Bronson Av; https://bit.ly/3iEFm6I; Hollywood; Address (for initial fire building) corrected to 1245; 97 LAFD firefighters took just 39 minutes to extinguish all flame at a quartet of residential structures, including a structurally unstable vacant 1 story home fully involved on firefighters arrival, fire extension to the attic of an adjacent 2 story craftsman-style home to the north, as well as a 900 square-foot guest house at the rear of the property. as well as minimal fire extension (balcony only?) at an occupied 3 story garden-style apartment building to the south. One adult male civilian from the apartment building is now being transported by LAFD Paramedics in fair condition to an area hospital for treatment of a burn injury to the hand or arm. One firefighter sustained a minor injury during the firefight, and following a brief on scene assessment, remains at scene. Media needs at scene will be handled by LAFD Operations West Bureau Chief Officers at or near the Command Post across the street from the incident. Significant progress is being made on what is now a Greater Alarm fire, with 97 LAFD personnel assigned in largely defensive operations on a structurally unstable vacant 1 story home that was fully involved on firefighters arrival, with fire extension to the attic of an adjacent 2 story craftsman-style home to the north, as well as a 900 square-foot guest house at the rear of the property. Minimal fire extension also occurred and has been contained (balcony only?) at an occupied 3 story garden-style apartment building to the south. One firefighter is being evaluated for a minor injury. One civilian from the apartment building is being treated for a minor burn injury. Firefighters initiated fire attack and found one patient, an approximately 50yo male. Paramedics quickly transported the patient and the extent/nature of his injuries is unknown at this time. #SunlandFire - Knockdown Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#1535; 12:24AM; 8431 N Sunland Bl; https://bit.ly/3o3xe0n; Sun Valley; The combined effort of 111 LAFD personnel, working for more than 3 hours in a well-coordinated combination of offensive and defensive tactics, have extinguished stubborn flame within the 5,736 square-foot vacant and boarded one-story former restaurant (building constructed 1968, last tenant reportedly departed late 2018), a highly compartmentalized space that was well involved with fire and experienced significant structural compromise due to the blaze. Nearby structures were protected from harm, and no injuries have been reported. Though the LAFD RS3 robotic firefighting vehicle is at scene, it remains in standby as an LAFD Excavator commences a teardown of a dangerously unstable exterior wall. LAFD crews will remain at the scene overnight, and are expected to be joined at daylight by an LAFD Urban Search and Rescue unit for a comprehensive secondary search of the premises, and an inspection by the City's Department of Building & Safety.
