The fire extended into the attic but was contained to the unit of origin. All occupants were out of the unit prior to LAFD arrival and one adult female was evaluated but she declined transport. During an aggressive roof operation by truck companies, firefighters cut a ventilation strip to help prevent the horizontal spread of fire to adjoining units. LAFD Arson is responding, per protocol, for the investigation. Some resources will be released shortly but crews will be on scene for an extended duration for overhaul and the investigation.
