Crews will continue to work on steep terrain to monitor hot spots and get all of the burned area appropriately bounded by fuel breaks, which involves clearing brush down to mineral soil. Brush Fire - Now Out; INC#1267; 05:13PM; 11451 W Foothill Bl; https://bit.ly/4cWVYkS; #LakeViewTerrace; Following reports of smoke, LAFD and LACoFD fire crews arrived at Hansen Dam and found approximately 1/2 acre of medium to heavy brush on fire. Firefighters worked quickly to surround the burning area with hose lines and extinguish the flames. Several fire companies will remain at the scene to address hotspots and ensure there is no threat of further spread. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0123; 02:12AM; 4400 N Crystal Springs Dr; https://bit.ly/3VTBz9i; #GriffithPark; Overnight, LAFD crews responded to reports of a rubbish fire near Griffith Park & Southern Railroad. Firefighters onscene reported a covered storage and maintenance area fully involved upon their arrival, with 30-ft flame lengths extending into nearby trees. Though accessing the area proved challenging, crews were able to force entry and achieve complete extinguishment in just over an hour. Loss of the involved structure(s) and any storage therein appeared to be complete. No injuries; fire cause is under active investigation. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1789; 09:49PM; 13645 W Riverside Dr; https://bit.ly/4bEVm2b; #ShermanOaks; Firefighters arrived at Notre Dame High School to find flames coming from the roof. Crews extended ladders to the roof and ascended to find fire near a roofing construction operation. Firefighters brought hose lines to the roof to extinguish the flames, which had only damaged the roof and exterior wall of the building. It took 38 firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish the flames.
