Knockdown - Structure Fire 01/13/2024 INC#1084

Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#1084; 03:31PM; 10615 S Avalon Bl; https://bit.ly/3S13SRk; #GreenMeadows; *Address Corrected from 107th Street*. The already well established fire was first noticed as a smoke plume and reported as a fire prior to any 9-1-1 call, by LAFD firefighters who arrived quickly after clearing another emergency in the neighborhood. It took the first 30 arriving LAFD personnel just 13 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish flames in the downstairs portion of a two-story residential fourplex. During their well-coordinated attack on the flames, firefighters discovered and rescued six pet dogs from the smoke charged unit of fire origin. While five of the animals were successfully resuscitated and/or medically stabilized with basic medical care and the use of oxygen, one of the pets was sadly beyond help and perished at the scene. No human injuries were reported. Five persons (4 adults & 1 child / undetermined affiliation) have been displaced by the fire, and will be assisted by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation. ; FS 64; Batt 13; South Bureau; Council District 8; BC11 BC13 E233 E264 E33 E64 E65 FR64 RA65 RA865 SO1 SQ21 T33 T64; CH7; 12; Brian Humphrey
