Update Structure Fire; 07:53PM; 19430 W Rosita St; internal:/; Tarzana; KNOCKDOWN: 54 FF in 42 mins. There was heavy fire in the attic and multiple sections of the home causing extensive damage. Structure had an addition to the north, creating a split level. Home appeared to be undergoing renovation and was not occupied. No injuries reported. Final Update Structure Fire; 11:54PM; 4918 E MENDOTA AV; internal:/; Bougainvillea vegetation was wrapped around the security bars rendering the 72 y/o man unable to open them and safely exit the burning home on his own. Update Structure Fire 01/12/2017

Update Structure Fire; 11:30PM; 4918 E MENDOTA AV; internal:/; A 72 y/o male was rescued from the 1st story of a split level home. He was found by firefighters behind a window with security bars, unable to get out (It is not immediately known as to why he was unable to get out). Firefighters quickly cut the bars and pulled him outside the burning home to safety. We are pleased to say he was transported to a local hospital in good condition. There was excessive storage inside the home and it is not immediately known if there were functional smoke alarms.
