Final - #PalmasFire Brush Fire; 09:45PM; Topanga State Park - Pacific Palisades; internal:/; After LAFD helicopters stopped the forward spread of flame, the teamwork of ground-based LAFD, LACoFD and MRCA crews fully (100%) contained the stubborn fire in remote terrain to three-quarters (0.75) of an acre with hand tools in just three hours; The helicopters and most engines have been released, but a highly mobile and vigilant fire department presence will remain in the area overnight; There have been no injuries; The fire's cause has yet to be determined; - Brian Humphrey

Structure Fire 02/21/2018

Structure Fire; 04:38AM; 6205 Fulton Av; https://goo.gl/maps/8qzXEZb3fqu; #ValleyGlen; Fire in one upstairs unit of a 21 unit two-story apartment building was confined within the unit of origin and extinguished by 38 firefighters in just 15 minutes; An approximately 55 year-old adult male resident of the involved unit sustained burns to hands and feet as well as smoke inhalation; He was transported to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in serious condition; The 14,041 square-foot building, constructed in 1956, was not equipped with optional fire sprinklers; The presence of functional smoke alarms, and their role at the time of the fire has yet to be determined; The fire's cause is considered accidental, attributed to insufficient space between the man's bed and a wall furnace that led to the ignition of bed linens; Monetary loss from the fire is still being tabulated; FS 102; Batt 14; Valley Bureau; Council District 4; Dispatched Units: E102 RA102 E239 E39 T39 RA39 E89 T89 E289 BC10 BC14 E60 AR2; CH: 9; 17; - Brian Humphrey
