Update Advisory - Stolen Ambulance 04/03/2018

Update - Stolen Ambulance Advisory; 01:30AM; Chino Hills; internal:/; The situation has been brought to a safe conclusion by the skill of CHP Officers, who were able to stop the LAFD vehicle on the shoulder of the 71 Freeway near Central Avenue/Soquel Canyon Parkway, and take the driver into custody without incident; The ambulance does not appear to have sustained any damage; Media Inquiries: CHP (for the pursuit and detention of suspect) and LAPD Incident #104 (for the required report of stolen City property); - Brian Humphrey

Stolen Ambulance Advisory 04/03/2018

Stolen Ambulance Advisory; 12:31AM; 1338 S Hope St; https://goo.gl/maps/yZSeHFmvNbJ2; #DTLA; As an LAFD Paramedic crew transferred care of a seriously ill patient to the staff inside California Hospital Medical Center in downtown Los Angeles, their unoccupied 2008 Ford E-Series ambulance (Shop #11812) was stolen from the ambulance parking bay adjacent to the emergency room; The LAPD quickly located the ambulance and commenced a low speed pursuit (the ambulance emergency lights and siren have not been activated), which has now continued onto the freeway system with light traffic conditions, where the California Highway Patrol has taken over the pursuit; No LAFD personnel or patients were harmed or will be delayed; The LAFD will be able to use a reserve ambulance vehicle to return the crew to duty as needed; Media Inquiries: CHP (for the pursuit) and LAPD Incident #104 (for the City required investigation and report); FS 10; Batt 1; Central Bureau; Council District 14; CH: NONE; - Brian Humphrey
